Removing the voice of citizens from the public space is not an inherently stable solution. Censorship requires ever more stringent suppression to maintain, and ultimately results in violence/civil war.
1st Amendment: protects against the censorship of verbatim speech.
2nd Amendment: protects against the rise of tyranny.
